Privacy Policy - Traders Till

Traders Till is built for home-scale producers running their own stands and operations. Your records are yours. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, your name, your operation name, and optionally a profile photo and business logo.

Operation records. Everything you enter while using the app: products, recipes, costs, inventory, sales, expenses, ventures, customers, orders, and notes.

Your buyers' information. If you run a storefront, we store the order details your buyers give you: name, contact details, delivery address where relevant, order contents, and their marketing or SMS preferences. You control this data. We process it on your behalf.

Billing information. Your billing contact details, your subscription status and history, and the tax location needed to calculate sales tax. Card numbers go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.

Authentication data. When you signed in, from which device, and, if you use Google, Apple, or Facebook sign-in, the basic profile information those providers return to verify your identity.

Technical data. IP address, browser and device characteristics, and server logs, collected automatically when you use the app.

Location you give us. The postal code or address you enter for your operation, used for weather, delivery routing, and finding your state's rules.

Why we collect it

To run the service and show you your own records
To process your subscription and calculate the tax we are required to collect
To send email and SMS you asked for or that your orders require
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse
To understand how the app is used so we can improve it

What we do not do

We do not sell your data.
We do not show ads in the app, and we do not use your data to target you with ads elsewhere.
We do not use your operation records to train AI models.
We do not share your operation records with anyone except the processors listed below, or where the law requires it.

Who processes data for us

We use a small set of companies to run the service. The full list, what each one does, and what data each one handles is on the Subprocessors page. The core ones are Neon (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), PostHog (product analytics), Mapbox (maps and routing), and Cloudflare (bot protection at sign-up).

None of them may use your data for their own purposes.

Traders Till and Farmstand Hub

Bright Beans Media also runs Farmstand Hub (farmstandhub.com), a free public map of farm stands and farmers markets. The two products share one account system and one database.

If you link your operation to a Farmstand Hub listing, the public listing details you choose (your stand's name, location, hours, and what you offer) appear on Farmstand Hub, and you can unlink or unpublish at any time from settings. Your private records, including sales, costs, inventory, and customers, are never shown on Farmstand Hub. If you arrived at Traders Till from Farmstand Hub, we record that referral.

Analytics and cookies

We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay. It is configured to respect Do Not Track, and when session replay is on, everything you type is masked in your browser before it is sent. We use Google Analytics 4 for traffic measurement with ads personalization turned off, and Vercel Web Analytics for cookieless performance metrics.

These measure product usage, not your operation records. You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.

Email

We send two kinds of email.

Transactional email covers your account and your orders: verification, password reset, receipts, order and pickup notices. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account, because they are how the service works.

Marketing email covers announcements and our newsletter. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not affect transactional email.

If you send marketing email to your own followers through Traders Till, you are responsible for having their consent.

SMS text messages

If you opt in at checkout on a storefront hosted on traderstill.com, Traders Till sends you SMS text messages about your own order: order and reservation confirmations, payment confirmations, order-ready notices, pickup-window reminders, cancellation notices, and back-in-stock alerts you requested.

These are transactional messages tied to the specific order you placed. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

We do not share, sell, or otherwise provide your mobile phone number or your SMS or messaging consent information to any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Message frequency varies based on your order activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help.

How long we keep data

We keep your records for as long as your account is open.

When you delete your account we begin a 30-day recovery window, described below. After that we keep records only as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected, or as long as the law requires. Billing and tax records are kept for 7 years because tax law requires it.

Export and deletion

Export. You can export everything tied to your account to CSV at any time from Settings.

Deletion. You can delete your account from Settings, under Danger zone. When you do:

Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out. Your operation stops being visible, and any published storefront comes down.
For 30 days you can restore the account by signing in through the recovery page. After 30 days the account can no longer be restored by you.
Your records remain in our database in a closed state after that window. They are not automatically erased.

If you want your data permanently erased, email hello@traderstill.com and ask. We will erase it within 30 days of your request and confirm when it is done. This is a manual process today, so asking is the only way to trigger it.

Some data survives erasure where the law requires: billing and tax records, and records we need to resolve a dispute or prevent fraud.

Backups are kept on a rolling schedule and are overwritten in the normal course. A deleted record can persist in a backup until that backup rotates out.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, get a copy in a portable format, or object to certain processing. Email hello@traderstill.com and we will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

Children

Traders Till is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will remove it.

Where data is held

Our servers and our processors are in the United States. If you use Traders Till from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed there.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email you before it takes effect and update the date at the top.
